Sharing is caring!

So it’s now May and I realised that I said a very quick Bye Felicia to April. Far out, where has this year gone? Clearly, it’s off on a magnificent adventure and forget to send me an invite. I’m sure that, just like my invitation to the Royal wedding, it’s in the post. If you’ve ever lived in Australia you’ll know that post here is notoriously slow and unreliable. So I’ll just stay at home at my laptop and wait for the invites to roll in.

Now I usually don’t do these monthly wraps up but as this year has been truly hectic and with a few things upcoming I thought hey why not? You might love it YAY and y’all might ignore me. Either way I’m sitting at my new desk, typing away, with a latte to one side, the fireplace is roaring and the dogs and snoring. Living the blogger life here.

What Amazing Things Do We Do In April?

Wow. What a long ass list this could turn into. So I’ll keep it super brief so you’re not too bored of my mundane life.

Moved house.

Yup, that’s right. We moved further away from Melbourne into a small country town. Well not crazy small but smaller than what I would have liked. It was a real lifestyle choice for us. There are mountain bike trails around, a few job opportunities and one really good cafe. Thankfully the train station is walking distance and the ride into the city is only about an hour. The dogs are loving it for the most, though in all honesty I do think that they are missing Grand Pa ( and his breakfast, super and late night walks).

Got a chest infection.

I don’t do things in halves. Never have and enver will. So when I was hit with that terrible head cold that’s doing the rounds in Melbourne, it decided to stay and morph into a horrific chest infection. Fast forward two weeks, a lot of drugs, sleepless nights and pretty much no blog content and then I hit the road to recovery. Just in the nick of time for the girls weekend away.

Had a delicious weekend away in Daylesford.

Daylesford really is a beautiful area to explore. Especially in Autumn when the crowds are less, the trees are turning gold to red and no one judges you for having an extra piece of brownie after dinner. Along with 8 other amazing bloggers we had a fabulous time. And it made me wonder why don’t we as an industry collaborate more often?

Took an amazingly short trip to Brisbane

It was irresistible to attend at Travel Massive event in Brisbane. Or as some people like to call it Brisvegas. It certainly was a different side of Australia that I’d almost wished didn’t exist. Now the event was fabulous, with wonderful people, just the area was a little less than desirable. I’m still processing what I saw and will have a write up shortly. Just a warning it will be NSFW kinda content.

One perk is that they do good coffee up in Fortitude Valley.

Just for the record I survived flying not one but two low-cost carriers. Budget travel for the win.

And I got a new job.

Woo hoo. Details to be discussed later on. That’s probably best considered a marvelous May magical moment.

And always dreaming of Patagonia

So rarely as one area left such a heavy impact on me. I look back at the wonders with almost the same wonder and awe as when we were there. The weather was great. The scenery stunning and really I just want to go back.

What Magic does May hold?

So much magic already. In between the new gig, walking the pups I’m popping up to Sydney to stay at Cockatoo Island and attend an event. But really the highlight of the month is heading back to Tasmania with the lovely Brittany from the Sweet Wanderlust. We’re off to explore Cradle Mountain Lodge & Launceston. Watch out animals we are overly excited and ready to take all the photos.
