A good coffee can fix the worse weather ~Munich

2014 sees the return of the all mighty Melbourne International Coffee Expo (May 17-18. Tickets can be bought here). As I am slowly getting excited about an entire day talking coffee, drinking coffee, watching coffee. I also take a moment to remember all the sad disposable cups that will be used and abused over the weekend. Never fear my KeepCup will be here! So what is a KeepCup and do you need one?

It was the Easter of 20-10. We were young and care free (dog free) and had a week-long trip planned down at Lake Tyres in Eastern Victoria. Good food, good friends and some good book reading was a guarantee. There I was walking along Brunswick St, Melbourne, waiting for James to finish work and madly trying to grab the last few Easter Eggs. A long day at university had left me a little drained and in need of a decent coffee. As I stepped into Jasper Coffee cafe my eyes were teased with a brilliant colorful display of reusable coffee cups- KeepCups to be exact. Oh all the pretty colors and combinations that I could make.

The KeepCup was light to touch, bounced well and claimed to be dishwasher safe. All wins in my world. Always up for trying new things I walked out with two KeepCups and about a kilo of Easter Eggs for my loved ones. The KeepCup ended up becoming my prize travel accessory for the week away. It survived being dropped into a lake, kicked around the camp site (by accident) and excessive use as the weather got chilly. As an added bonus it fits perfectly into the cup holder in my chair. The close lid system meant that James felt confident enough to bring me a cup of tea in bed (by bed I mean in tent bed). This is by far one of the top features of the KeepCup- the unique closed lid.

Four years on and my original KeepCup, as seen above, has well and truly lasted the test of time. Just about every day my KeepCup gets a work out. As the KeepCup is designed to fit under commercial and home coffee machines it’s perfect for my morning latte on the way to work.
