For a first time visitor to Hong Kong, The Mini Hotel Central was the perfect place to start. Located just minutes walk away from the Tramcar, the MTR stations and some great places to eat and drink. It was a short walk to Soho and Lan Kwai Fong.

The staff where friendly and welcoming on arrival. Check in was easy and my room was ready on time. One of the highlights, once I found the hotel, was the use of a smart phone whilst I was in town. The phone provided me with a good guide to city attractions, a map of Hong Kong and access to the internet if needed when I was out and about.

My room was teeny tiny but perfect for one person. In all honesty I wouldn’t have had any issues sharing the space with James except for ALL the glass. The room offered no privacy at all in the bathroom area. Yes this includes the toilet too.

Lots of beautiful glass with a great view over looking over a rooftop bar. Which I found out the hard way when I gratefully hoped into the super hot shower and gave a group enjoying drinks on the rooftop a free show.

Highlights- Free Wi-Fi in my room. Great Wi-Fi which let me Skype home and let everyone know I was still alive. Also included was a kettle, hair dryer.

Cost including taxes- $113 AU for the night.

Address– 38 Ice House Street, Hong Kong

Stylish set up. Clean, well air conditioned and had some great art work.

Overall a nice place to stay. Slightly more classy than a backpackers hostel and around the same price.
